Greetings! I'm a musician, former practicing attorney and Reiki Master Teacher, as well as a mindfulness-based psychotherapist. In my 70 years of life - including 26 on the periphery of and 24 directly involved in the mental health field - I've learned a few things I think everyone would benefit from knowing. First, life can be - and often is - difficult. I'm guessing you already know this. Second, humans are very adaptable, even in the face of loss, grief and despair. Third, that the vast majority of us humans can learn the skills that help us accept the past, locate and ground ourselves in the present and move forward with courage. That's good news. The fact that you're looking at therapy websites suggests to me that you have a situation, challenge or problem that you want to talk about with a compassionate listener. I work with individual adults only, with a special focus on those in midlife and beyond, in the areas outlined below. I don't accept insurance but may be able to offer a sliding scale for those with financial need. Perhaps I can be that compassionate listener and helper for you!
